Accutane ( Generic name-Isotretinoin) is a very powerful treatment, generally reserved for the most severe cases of nodulocystic acne( a skin disorder).This medicine is used to treat the most severe form of acne. and should be used only if the other medicines for curing acne have not yielded any positive results.The treatment usually goes on for 4 to 6 months, but in certain cases the period may extend by another 6 months, this is in case of “retreatment”.
