What does the word really mean to us? The first thing one thinks of on hearing the word is a of crippled child or a leper or a person having deformed limbs. Well those are some of the instances of defective conditions but other than that, damaged roads, dilapidated buildings etc also refer to the same thing. Defective condition in humans is a result of a number of mishaps. Sometimes people loose their limbs due to accidents or have to get their limbs amputated due to the spread of any poison that renders the limb useless. This is a sad thing but many people suffer from such conditions. Then there are children who are born spastic. Take for instance of the Nuclear Attack on Hiroshima that occurred in August 6 1945. The excess inhalation of that terribly harmful gas has had terrible repercussions. Till date, a lot of the children that are born are in a defective state. They either suffer from mental damage or some bodily damage. All this for no fault of their own. Defective conditions of the body and mind cant really be altered but defective conditions like damaged roads and dilapidated buildings can be mended. When one has to sell a property, it has to insured that the property is not in a defective condition. If it is, it has to be adequately mended. If not, the seller can be ordered by a court of law to do so. If suppose a property is sold in a defective condition, on the occurrence of an unforeseen event, the seller of the property can be punished or fined by law. It is best to follow the safeguards as laid down by the law and properly mend your property before selling. If this is not done and the building collapses, a lot of damage will be done to human life and property. Besides bearing the punishment of law, you will have to live with the burden of having taken a lot of innocent lives. As far as defective roads are concerned, it is the duty of the government to make sure that roads are made safe for people to use. There are rules and regulations in this regard too but many a times, they are not followed again leading to loss of human life. Therefore the government must see to it that roads are safe and pliable for all as one life is as safe as the other. A lot of storekeepers sell defective goods to their innocent customers. This practice is morally incorrect but now days no one really has the time to stop and think about the right and wrong things. A number of commissions and organizations are set up in order to prevent manufacturers from producing sub-standard and defective items. These organizations are collectively known as quality control organizations and they do the best they can to ensure that goods supplied to the customers are not sub-standard or defective. The best help storekeepers can offer these quality control organizations is to not sell defective goods and reject them as soon as they are brought into the store for selling. Defective conditions of the mind and body are something we can learn to adapt to and live with but as for defective roads and property, since we can work to eliminate them, we must try our best to do so.
