Operating bicycle on roadway. NRS 484.509
1. Every person operating a bicycle upon a roadway shall, except:
(a) When traveling at a lawful rate of speed commensurate with the speed of any nearby traffic;
(b) When preparing to turn left; or
(c) When doing so would not be safe, ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable, exercising due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction.
2. Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall not ride more than two abreast except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles.
This Nevada statute deals with the rules regarding operating a bicycle on a roadway. A bicyclist who violates this statute may be deemed by the court to have committed “negligence per se”.
