Terrible Motorcycle Crash Highlights Dangers of Caravans

E-mail Print
Motorcyclists tend to spend time riding with other motorcyclists, and this is an age-old norm that goes back as long as these vehicles have been available on the market.  While riding in a caravan can help keep individual riders safe because it makes them easier to see by other motorists, it can also lead to additional damage if something goes wrong.  Unfortunately, that appears to be what happened in a recent crash on a rural highway.

According to the Pahrump Valley Times:

"Six motorcycle riders, some with carried passengers, crashed in a tangle of metal Saturday before noon, in one of the most horrific motorcycle accidents ever seen in Pahrump.

Twenty motorcyclists riding as a group heading north on Highway 160 slowed down as they approached Simkins Road. However, the riders in the back of the group did not notice in time and crashed into the riders in front, hitting a woman passenger and severely injuring her leg.

The woman's foot was amputated at the scene and she was flown by Mercy Air helicopter to a hospital in Las Vegas, where her leg was operated on again and removed up to her knee cap. Chelita Rojas, a spokesman for the Nevada Highway Patrol, did not have any information about specific accident victims but said "a severely injured woman" was in stable condition."

Authorities stated that a total of five people were injured in the crash.  If you or someone you love has been injured in a motorcycle collision, you need the help of a Las Vegas personal injury lawyer who has years of experience in successfully fighting for the rights of injured clients.  Contact the Sam Harding Law Firm today to schedule a free initial consultation.
