According to the authorities, this Las Vegas motorcycle accident occurred last night at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Simmons Street.  The officer on the motorcycle had been traveling in an eastbound direction on Lake Mead Boulevard when he collided with the pickup truck at the intersection.  Police suspect that the pickup truck driver may have pulled out in front of the officer, but nothing has been concluded yet and the investigation is ongoing.  The officer was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
